Institute of Technical Trades – Accredited CWB & TSSA Test Centre

CWB Testing - The Canadian Welding Bureau (CWB) serves as the national certifying body for structural welders across Canada.

TSSA Testing - The Technical Standards and Safety Authority (TSSA) is an independent regulatory body in Ontario responsible for enforcing safety standards across various sectors, including fuel systems, pipelines, pressure vessels, and boilers. The TSSA certifies welders for work in industries such as manufacturing, oil and gas, and power generation.

As an accredited CWB and TSSA test centre, the Institute of Technical Trades (ITT) integrates certification tests with these organizations into our welding training programs. These assessments equip students with essential welding skills and expertise while ensuring compliance with national and provincial safety and quality standards.
Earning certifications from the CWB and TSSA validates a student’s skills and expertise, opening doors to new opportunities and enabling them to excel in demanding and regulated industries such as construction, manufacturing, and pressure systems.

Benefits of Certification:

Industry Relevance: These certifications are widely recognized in key sectors such as construction, manufacturing, oil and gas, and pressure systems, making certified welders more employable and competitive.
Compliance with Regulations: Many welding jobs, especially those involving structural steel or pressure vessels, require welders to hold CWB or TSSA certification, ensuring that workers adhere to provincial and national safety codes.
Career Advancement: Training programs that include these certifications equip students with the credentials needed to take on more specialized and higher-paying roles.
Hands-on Preparation: Incorporating these tests into training provides practical, real-world experience with the types of projects and standards welders will encounter in their careers.

Note: CWB and TSSA testing is also available to non-students with advance booking.
